As conference time quickly approaches, preparations for a magnificent time in the presence of Jesus stimulate our hearts to expect the Holy Spirit’s fresh work in every heart and life of CCWM family and friends. We hope you have already marked your calendar for our annual celebration--as we gather, yet again, in warm fellowship and passionate worship.
The direction that we believe the Holy Spirit points us as we move forward in this fellowship inspired the theme of this year's conference: The Mantle of Heritage, the concept of which we desire to highlight--and to enhance--for our Father reveals Himself often in the Scriptures as God of generations. One of the most profound references to this truth, we find repeated often in the biblical text, "I am the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob," Matthew 22:32a--NKJV.
Jesus Himself quoted the words as He stressed the reality of resurrection while also alluding to the very truth that God's will and works are accomplished through generational successions. Thus, each generation occupies a unique position as a kind of coupling to connect with the former generation and the forthcoming generation.
And so, we believe the intent of the Spirit inspires us to present the biblical truths regarding parents and children, spiritual and biological, pushing the validity and importance of each generation recognizing the essential connections of the generations.
There exists so much emphasis on the belief of generational curses without even a modest interest in the truth of generational blessings...this imbalance ought not to fill minds and mouths!
As John the Baptist in Luke 1:16-17, 3:3-6 prepared the way for the Lord's first arrival and ministry by preaching repentance to the Jews for not faithfully serving the God of their fathers--and by promoting a return of the fathers to the children and the children to the fathers--so may we the current generation of God's family, preach the same kind of repentance and restoration, and may we thus make ready a people prepared for the imminent appearance of our Savior! God is the God of family...the Father of sons and daughters and their generations...the forever family of our Heavenly Father.
